IF THE SHOE FITS is a new competition in its 2nd year to find the next “Queen of NYE” for the 29th annual Key West New Years Eve High Heel Shoe Drop. Six finalists will be selected for the October 10, 2026 National Finals live in Key West on Duval Street.
Our first stop in the search for the next QUEEN OF NEW YEARS EVE is DALLAS, TEXAS! Weds August 19, Showtime at 10pm at the Round Up Saloon in Dallas, Texas!

America’s Search for the Next Queen of New Year’s Eve
“IF THE SHOE FITS” kicks off its seven-city tour in Dallas, home of the reigning National Champion and current Queen of New Years Eve, Mulan Alexander!
“IF THE SHOE FITS” returns for its second year, offering Professional Entertainers and Drag Stars around the United States the chance to become the STAR of the world-famous Key West High Heel Shoe Drop, one of the world’s most iconic New Year’s Eve celebrations and covered internationally by CNN. Presented by Bourbon Street Pub and the The Monroe County Tourist Development Council with support from Island House Key West, “IF THE SHOE FITS” will visit seven cities across the United States between the end of August and October looking for entertainers with outstanding stage presence and the ability to command spectators by the thousands.
The Dallas winner will receive $500 cash courtesy of Island House Key West and a 5-day trip to the October 10, 2026 National Finals in Key West with round-trip airfare and accommodations at New Orleans House, the guest house of Bourbon Street Pub and the site of the annual New Years Eve Extravaganza for a chance to succeed Mulan as the NEW “Queen of New Years and STAR of “Red High Heel Shoe Drop” on December 31st.

· Mulan Alexander, reigning “If the Shoe Fits” National Champion and current Queen of New Years Eve
Emceed by Global LGBTQ+ Ambassador Patrik G., co-host of the annual High Heel Shoe Drop
